Jeremy Horvath has been performing percussion live and in the studio since 2000. From Nashville recording studios to Paisley Park, he has experience on professional levels. Recently he has produced and engineered recording sessions in the studio. Now on both sides of the music spectrum, Jeremy is looking forward to continuing his music credits and developing a stronger music business network in the Twin Cities.
At the age of 9, he started drum lessons with Elliot Fine from the Minnesota Orchestra. In his youth he played with Bloomington Drum Corp and High School concert band. By age 17, he was performing in Minneapolis clubs and would soon get his first taste of studio work. Around this time he met Michael Bland, a fellow Twin Cities drummer who also had an early start in music. Jeremy’s studies with Michael opened his eyes to the local music scene. Getting these experiences at such a young age contributed to his work ethic and motivation. Months later, Jeremy found himself feeling at home in the recording studio.
He went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Performance from McNally Smith College in 2004 where he studied with Marv Dahlgren, principle percussionist from the Minnesota Orchestra. After graduating he immediately began teaching private lessons at Chaska Music Studios, where he has been an instructor since 2004. While teaching, he wrote and published instructional books and play-along CDs. During this time, Jeremy also branched out to Nashville, where he performed sessions and built contacts in another music city. Back in Minnesota, he began managing a recording studio north of the Twin Cities. Here is where he learned the basics of engineering and did his first producing.
Since then, Jeremy has completed his Bachelors in Music Business and continues recording on sessions and teaching. He also completed an internship with The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra working with the education department. The next step for him will be to continue his path in music by performing, pursuing session work, and staying dedicated to music education in the Twin Cities.
